CWC South East – Child Case Support - Seema

Dec 12, 2025

  1. Initial Contact and Family Situation- After the case was received by CWC South East, a call was
connected with the child and her family. The family informed that they were living inside a factory
premises in Delhi where the child’s father worked in a book-printing unit. The entire family—parents
and three children—was staying together in a very small room inside the factory.

  2. Child’s Past Incident- During the interaction, it was revealed that earlier the child lived with her
family in Bihar. At that time, a man forcibly took her to Delhi and committed a serious crime against
her. He then attempted to kill her by slitting her throat and abandoned her in a forest area. When
the child regained partial consciousness, she reached a roadside fruit seller who attended to her.
Soon after, she fainted again and was taken to the Trauma Centre, where she underwent treatment
for nearly two months. Because of the stitches on her neck and head, the child kept her face covered
    for a long time.

  3. Legal Support and Compensation- The family had no knowledge about compensation
entitlements. The Dhanak support person visited the court and found that compensation for the
child had already been approved. The support person assisted the child and her father in submitting
all required documents to the court. Help was provided in preparing and submitting the affidavit.

  4. Medical Support-The family later informed that the child needed follow-up medical treatment but
the doctor was not available at the hospital. The support person personally visited the hospital and
discussed the case with the staff. The doctor prescribed medication and informed that if the
medicines did not work, surgery would be needed for the stitches/scars. * Medicines were provided
    to the child.

  5. Family’s Economic Condition and Relocation The child’s father lost his employment as his work
was seasonal. Due to financial difficulties, the family wished to return to their village. * The support
person explained that for any court hearings, the court would cover their travel expenses. * The
family then relocated to their village.

  6. Assistance for Court Appearance-Later, the child’s father informed that there was a court date but
he was unable to book train tickets. The support person assisted in arranging the tickets. * The child
reached the court and successfully recorded her statement.

  7. Present Status-The child is currently living safely with her family in their village. Her siblings are
also there. Whenever the family needs to appear in court, they contact Dhanak for support. A
support person from Dhanak remains present in the courtroom to encourage and emotionally
    support the child.
